Kiwanis Club flips cakes for fundraising - 05/18/2016

AUBURN — Pancakes and Mailhot sausages are once more on the menu at the 2016 Pancake Breakfast sponsored by the Lewiston Auburn Kiwanis Club. The annual fundraiser will be held from 6:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, at St. Dominic Academy in Auburn.

Club President Paul Gauvreau said this is the 58th pancake breakfast sponsored by the local service organization, adding that “it’s a longstanding way for Kiwanis to usher in the summer season!” Proceeds generated at the breakfast, he said, are used to help fund projects, programs and scholarships for youth throughout Androscoggin County.

Lewiston-Auburn Kiwanis Charters New Key Club at Lisbon High School - 05/16/2016

Lisbon High School held a charter event in May to welcome in its first-ever Key Club. Sponsored by the Lewiston-Auburn Kiwanis Club, the induction ceremony was attended by local club members, Ava Adams, New England and Bermuda District of Kiwanis Division 5 Lt. Governor, and several members from the Scarborough, Portland and Norway-Paris Kiwanis clubs.

Also there to celebrate the founding of a new club were members of Saint Dominic Academy Key Club and the Lewiston High School Key Club.

Kiwanis and St. Dom's students team up for toy drive - 04/13/2016

Dave Bouffard and his wife, Angela, unload boxes of teddy bears from the back of their car at The Village Inn in Auburn on Wednesday. Dave Bouffard, the secretary for the Lewiston-Auburn Kiwanis Club, and Angela, the assistant secretary, helped deliver 108 stuffed bears to two Saint Dominic Academy sixth-grade teachers. Students in Jen Poliquin's and Mary Katherine Foster's classrooms collected toys, books and art supplies for children at The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital. Ten to 15 students will make the trip to Portland on April 18 to deliver the items they collected during their toy/book drive.

Kiwanis – Eat a pancake … and change a child’s life! - 05/05/2014

The 2014 Kiwanis pancake breakfast will be held — rain or shine! — on Sunday, June 1st, from 6:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Dominic Academy, in Auburn. The second annual blessing of the bikes will be held at 10 a.m. at L-A Harley in Lewiston, major event sponsor.  There will be plenty of fun for the entire family, along with several children’s activities! Tickets are $5 in advance, or $6 at the door, and can be purchased at L-A Harley or at participating Hannaford and Shaw’s stores. Kiwanis proceeds from the event are given back to the community as community service projects.

NEW Inclement Weather Policy - 01/20/2014

If Lewiston or Auburn schools are cancelled on any given meeting day, or if there is a two-hour delay in school openings, the morning meeting shall be CANCELLED. If there is inclement weather on a day when an evening meeting is scheduled, the Club President shall make a decision by 2 p.m. and send notice by email to Club members. If the Club President is unavailable, then the President-Elect shall make the call and issue the email.
